Section 42
Issue of renewal fee
If a vehicle registered in accordance with this Act is impounded for any reason or damaged in an accident or for any other reason and cannot be driven or driven for a period of more than one year, if the owner of the vehicle submits proof of the same along with the certificate of registration, the authorized officer shall withdraw the certificate of registration of such vehicle. The renewal fee payable by the owner of the vehicle may be waived for the duration of the vehicle's inoperability.
